How we work

IMG_9551 (1).jpeg

Unbiased guidance, on your side — from the first conversation to the last follow-up.

Sage is not a care provider, a placement agency, or a licensed advisor. We are the navigator who sits beside your family across every decision — legal, financial, healthcare, insurance, real estate, and housing — and makes sure the professionals you choose deliver what they promised.

What "on your side" means in practice

You pay Sage directly. No community, agency, or advisor pays us to recommend them.

You choose. We bring vetted options and explain the trade-offs; the decision stays with your family.

We stay. Our work is not done when the introduction is made — it is done when the service is working for you.

The Sage approach

Four steps. One steady guide

01
Listen

It starts with a free 30-minute conversation. You tell us what is happening — the diagnosis, the sibling disagreement, the house that is suddenly too big, or simply the feeling that it is time to plan. We ask about the whole picture, not just the question that prompted the call, and we tell you honestly whether Sage is the right fit.

What you can expect: no sales pitch, no pressure to decide anything, and a clear first step whether or not you continue with us.

If we proceed: a short intake and a written agreement so the scope and fee are clear before any work begins.

03
Connect

We introduce you to members of the Sage Trusted Alliance Network — attorneys, advisors, clinicians, Medicare specialists, realtors, home care and senior living providers — each one vetted before we would ever put a family in front of them. We prepare you for the meeting, attend when you want us there, and help you compare what you heard.

Always your choice: we usually offer more than one option, and you may bring a professional you already trust.

Never a referral fee: no one in the network pays Sage to be there.

02
Plan

We assess your situation across all six domains and write a plain-language roadmap: what matters this month, what can wait, what it may cost, and which professionals you will need. Families tell us this is the first time the whole picture has been on one page.

What you receive: a written roadmap with priorities, options, and the trade-offs of each — in words your whole family can read.

Who is in the room: you decide. We are glad to include adult children, a spouse, or an existing advisor.

04
Follow Through

This is the step most services skip. After an introduction is made, Sage stays involved: we check that the caregiver showed up, that the attorney's documents were signed, that the move happened the way it was promised. If a provider is not meeting your family's expectations, we help you say so — or help you find someone who will.

Why it matters: a good recommendation is only good if the service works in real life. We measure ourselves by your satisfaction, not by the handoff.

How long we stay: as long as the plan is in motion — and families often return when the next chapter begins.

Whether you are planning years ahead or your parent came home from the hospital yesterday, every engagement follows the same path — only the pace and the depth change.

Scoped to your situation

No two families need the same amount of help.

After the first conversation, we recommend the level of support that fits — and put the scope and fee in writing before any work begins. Each level builds on the one before it.

The Trusted Alliance Network

We would not send you to anyone we have not vetted ourselves.

Every professional and provider in the network is evaluated with a documented, five-principle method and must clear a scoring threshold before Sage will introduce a family. We look at licensing and standing, how they handle complaints, how they communicate with families under stress, whether their fees are transparent, and whether they put the client's interest ahead of their own. Membership is earned, reviewed, and can be lost.

The five principles we score

1

Standing — current licenses, certifications, and complaint history

2

Competence — depth in the work families actually need

3

Communication — plain language, responsiveness, patience with families in crisis

4

Transparency — clear fees, clear scope, no surprises

Integrity — the family's interest comes first, every time

5

What Sage does not do

Give legal, financial, or medical advice - licensed professionals do that; we make sure you reach the right ones

Accept placement fees, referral fees, or commissions from anyone we recommend

Provide hands-on care - we coordinate the people who do

Make the decision for you - we make sure it is yours, and an informed one

What Sage does

Assess your situation across all six domains and write the plan

Explain options and trade-offs in plain language, including senior living — with no commission behind the recommendation

Introduce vetted professionals, prepare you for meetings, and attend when you want us there

Follow through until each service is working for your family
